How to play Counter-Strike 1.6 on WLAN with friends for free.

 

In this tutorial i will teach you to play Counter-Strike 1.6 with friends on WLAN for free legally.

Note: This guide can also work for Counter-Strike: Source.. but it’s not free legally.
Remember, During early days, Counter-Strike was just a mod of Half-Life. So, the original mod is still free. Although it’s not updated.
So, lets start up.
Things you need:

• Any computer with Wireless modem or a laptop with WLAN.
• It’s better to have the laptop.
• Windows 7 is best for adhoc connections. 
• Friend’s laptop with same configuration.
• Counter-Strike 1.6
• And of course some time to play.

First of all you need to download Counter-Strike 1.6, if you already bought it on steam then it’s okay but i would still recommend to download this version. As different versions of others clients would lead to failure.
Download it from here.
After downloading, install it on your laptop(or pc). and also copy it to any flash drive and install it on the other laptops. So you are the server and they will become the client.
Now open “Control Panel” >> open “Network and Sharing center”.
Click on “Manage wireless Networks” it is located in the left panel.

Then it would open… like this.

Click on “add”.

Now “create an ad hoc network”.

Now, choose one network name. and set the security type to open or you may choose WPA2. but open can also be used if you are playing inside the room.
Now you need to connect to this network.

Also connect the other laptops with this network.
Now open Counter-Strike and create a server.
Since you created the server, then you will be the server and others will be the client.
After few moments, let the others open counter-strike and tell them to click on “Find Servers” >> “LAN tab”. and they would be able to see your server.
Tell them to connect and hurrah.. you all guys would be able to play counter-strike on a single map.
Note: You will soon encounter some problem, when you will try to play this second time. Your friends might not be able to connect.. if so happens then you need to delete the ad hoc connection and create a new one. You may need to repeat this process for every time you play.

How to fix the Fallout 3 crashes and bugs.

Well this guide is for those who are really pissed of due the glitches, crashes, bugs, freezing moments in the Fallout 3 game.

First of all, let me make this clear this guide is not 110% reliable but I have successfully fixed my game and this is going to take some time. I just wanted to share this tutorial.
Note: This guide works for the skullptura release rip.
Okay.. so lets start up..
Steps to make it run.
1) Install the game.
2) Now run Fallout3.exe
If it gives you an error like “xlive.dll not found”. Then you probably need to install Game for Windows live.. but there is a more easier way. You just need to download “xlive.dll” file. You can get it from http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?xlive
Then after downloading.. simply paste that in your Fallout 3 root folder i.e. by default “C:\Program Files\Bethesda Studios\Fallout 3” but yours can vary.. so be sure..

3) Again run “Fallout3.exe”
Then it would just start but whenever you will start a new game it will crash to desktop. This is a persistent problem in Windows 7. But we have a fix too. Download this d3d9.dll file from here https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B8bDGuYO9uq8MEdacGlKcTJVeEU/edit?pli=1 You have to be very precise in this one.. and please download this file only from my given link.. others file of same name on the internet might not work. Actually this file forces the game to run on DirectX 9.0. Now after downloading again paste the file into the root folder of fallout.

4) Now again run “Fallout3.exe”
If it again crashes to desktop during the new game.. then you need to edit few things. Open your root folder of fallout 3 then you would find a file named “Fallout_default.ini” open that file, it should open it any text editor. Now find the line “bUseThreadedAI=0” and replace it with “bUseThreadedAI=1” (without quotes) then just below this line add one more line “iNumHWThreads=2” (without quotes) this will force the game to run with 2 processors. You need to do the same editing work in “C:\Users\Unnati\Documents\My Games\Fallout3\FALLOUT.INI” mind it exactly same editing.
4) Before you start it again this is an optional step to those users who use “ffdshow”. You need to open “Audio Decoder Configuration” from the ffdshow and click on “Directshow control” in the left pane and then check the box “don’t use ffdshow in” and add “Fallout3.exe” in it.

Now click on OK.

5) Now start the game but before you start the game you just change the Screen effects to bloom or none in fallout settings by running “FalloutLauncher.exe” then before running the “fallout3.exe” right click on it and change the compatibility to Windows XP SP2 and enable run as administrator. Now start the game and click on settings>gameplay> and turn of all the autosaves. Then click on new game and it will start.. yuppy.. it will simply work.. but wait after a few mins it might crash.
6) If in between it crashes or freezes then you must download the official patches of Fallout 3 from here http://fallout.bethsoft.com/eng/downloads/updates.html
skullptura version users download the US version.
Then install the patch and it would automatically start up the game.
7) The game should work fine from here. If not then this is going to be a tough or time consuming part. You need to download the Skullptura Fallout 3 Final Fix. You can download it from here http://goo.gl/AR4XS But mind it i have not tried this with Original release.. only Skullptura users will might get success here.. but other users may try.
8) Now download that and extract it. Then put the files of the “Skullptura Final fix\Data\” into your fallout 3 installed directory “Fallout 3\Data\”
NOTE- Mind one thing don’t copy the whole folder from outside and replace it. You need to copy the contents of the Data folder.
Now copy the “start_ffix.bat” into the root of your fallout 3. and run it. It can take about 3 hours but don’t close it.. even if it will look like not responding.. but actually it would be working.
9) After the completion.. You fallout 3 is ready to be played.

How To Download Music for free and in an almost legal way.

For downloading music legally i would be using an almost legal site “Grooveshark” .

Okay, I think in this world, Music and Internet should be free.. like an universal right. And music companies and artist would earn money through taxes paid by us. But still it’s only a dream and now come to the reality.

Now you would be asking why “Grooveshark” as there are millions of fancy sites like mediafire, megaupload, etc.
Now let me answer.. Grooveshark is not illegal. It doesn’t let you download their uploaded music. It’s similar to Pandora or Last.fm
But the difference is you can play any desired song of your choice without the interruption of idiotic ads. Plus most of the songs are in 192kbps format, therefore it makes some sense in quality and all the songs have a nice looking album art and correct metadata. One more thing Grooveshark has 22 million tracks of songs.
Now our mission is to download tons of our fav music from this treasure site. Just go through my steps and you would be listening songs on your iPod, iTunes, Walkman, Computer, anywhere.
Steps:

1. You need to use Internet Explorer for this whole process. I know this is bad but the main plugin doesn’t work in Firefox or Chrome. So install the latest version of IE9 for Windows7 and Vista and IE7 for XP users.
2. Now Go to “http://www.orbitdownloader.com/Orbit-Grooveshark-downloader.htm” and click on Download Now.
3. Then install the downloaded software. Actually you don’t need to use the Orbit downloader for doing this. You just need is the new
   “Grab Pro” plugin in IE. If everything is correct then your IE will look like this. Notice the Grab pro bar.
   
4. Now don’t remove the bar because that’s the key to download. Okay then open “http://grooveshark.com/” and search any song or artist or album of your choice.
5. For example i am searching here “eminem”. Then some results will come up basically all the songs uploaded by him.
6. Now play any song from the results. Like i am playing “Cinderella Man”. Then the song will start to play. You will soon notice that in the Grab Pro Bar, a number would show up.
7. Now click on the grab pro bar. and then click on Download it button.
8. After clicking on download it. It will ask you to save the file. Just make sure that you rename the file correctly and then click on save.
9. Soon the music will start to download the benefit is that it doesn’t download in a new form it just combines the streamer and downloader. So you could listen to that song while downloading it. Soon after the download completion the bar will look like this.
10. Now what else, Open your download folder and enjoy the high quality song offline. Put it in your iPod or your music player or just enjoy on your pc.
11. Just play it and don’t forget to share them with friends. But don’t make money with this.
12. Note: This is an almost legal way to download music since we aren’t using any fancy ad sites nor anyone would trace it. But if you still feel some pity for the artists then don’t do it. Always listen to your heart okay. You could also buy a $4 subscription in Grooveshark so that “downloading” makes some sense. Meanwhile you could also try one more legal music downloading site like Jamendo. What a fresh piano music!!!

Use Spotify Free in other countries.

How To Use Spotify Free in other countries.

We all are familiar with the legal music streaming site “Spotify”. It allows us to listen to any music of our choice for free but the downside is that it is only available in US, UK, France, etc.

So i am going to tell you guys that how could we use it in other countries easily. Just follow my steps and you would be enjoying Spotify soon regardless of where you live.
Follow these steps:

1. First of all we need download the “Spotify” app from the official website. Go to “http://www.spotify.com/us/download/windows/”. Then click on Download Now, then it would be saved on your computer.
   
2. Now open the downloaded setup and install it.. this would take some moments. After the installation it would ask you to login.. since we don’t have any Spotify account right now so don’t enter anything and just close the application.
3. Now the complicated part is coming. We have to use a VPN client to proceed. Just go to “http://www.hideipvpn.com/freetrial/”. Then signup there. They will send a confirmation message to your email.. so confirm it and you will be able to surf with US and UK IP for 3 hours. So in order to use it we have to download its setup from here “http://www.hideipvpn.com/setup-howto/”.
   
4. Now download and install it. then open it. It will ask your user name and password.. username is your email id which you have entered during the registration and password they will give you in your email. After entering both email and password, Click login.
   
5. Then select server as UK 4 and protocol as L2TP and select connect. Your connection would be soon made if not then select any other server maybe UK2 but don’t change the protocol. 
   
   
6. After connecting to the VPN. You need to signup for the Spotify account. Go to “http://www.spotify.com/int/signup/open/” and then enter your Facebook credentials and then press Register.
7. After signing up. Edit your profile nicely. Then close it. Now again open the Spotify application which we have installed. Now put your spotify / Facebook and press login.. tadaa now you are using Spotify while not living in particular countries.
8. NOTE: Your listening limit on Spotify Free is 10hours/month.. use it wisely. And most important don’t log out from your spotify app.
